Introduction to Violence

Most important action movie of the time. Roughly 10 years, though I am not sticking to it. Mad Max: Fury Road inspired. The Matrix inspired. What is the dawn of the modern action movie? Subjective, but I need to investigate. Found A History of Violence online in my research. I was building a similar list, though with a different objective, so I decide to mine it for great action movies. I am considering it sort of a syllabus of the modern action movie. So I will watch them (I haven’t seen many of these, especially some of the older ones), and determine where there was a strong shift.

The 60s

Early prototypes of the modern action movie are seen in the first James Bond movies, though I say that they are freely intermingled with the ‘spy’ genre. Goldfinger (1964) is probably one of the most important here. But here is my course work.
